e-Government

The course is an introduction to e-government and the transformation of public administration through this. It offers students the knowledge and skills to use innovative computer applications in government. It studies the technological and organizational background of eGovernment. It gives knowledge on the strategy implementation of eGovernment projects. It studies the legislative framework, the impact of gaps and security issues in e-government environments.

Objectives

By completing the course, students / behavior shows should: • Be aware of the ways in which the internet has changed the way in which the government and individual public agencies communicate with citizens • To show the main problems of public administration in the information society, • To show the basic functions of public administration and the redesign of administrative procedures and the way the Internet has transformed and strengthen the democratic process • Be aware of the standards and interoperability of e-government applications. • Explain the importance of: knowledge management and e-government, e-democracy (e-democracy), e-participation (e-participation), e-voting (electronic voting), online consultation, • To discuss safety and privacy, societal acceptance of electronic procedures, legal issues. • Be aware of the context of eGovernment in EU
