Soil and Sea Pollution Remediation Techniques

First, It contains basic knowledge for the sea pollution, focusing mostly in oil slicks, their impacts and the basic technologies of addressing the problem. The second part contains the basic methods (physical, chemical, biological) for remediation of soil and ground water

Objectives

On successful completion of this module the student will be able to: • have the basic scientific knowledge in order to participate in the assessment – evaluation of a pollution episode in the sea, as well as in the respective process of decontamination • know the main methods of remediation of polluted soil, which will help him to join in addressing pollution episodes in the soil and in underground aquifers, by choosing the proper technique, in situ (in the field) or ex situ (excavation or pump of the polluted part, treatment and return)

Prerequisites

No prerequisites are required
