Polymers and Composite Materials

The course aims to help students to understand the fundamentals of polymers in general and their applications. Understanding their properties and the plethora of their applications compined with wood. Furthermore, to understand the relationship of the combination of materials with the decorative art.

Objectives

At the end of the semester, students should: - know the properties of polymers and how they can be married to wood - know and understand all the classes of polymers - know that wood fibers reinforce polymers - be aware of the impact of multilateral health and the environment as well as worker protection measures.
